One of the most interesting characters that you could use in Diablo 2 would be that of a Fury Druid. One of these characters works in such a way that you can tap into powers of magic to help you fight your enemies. The fury druid in particular works in a form that will turn into a werewolf and attack its enemies with the Rabies skill, helping to spread an attack of poison throughout the group.
If you plan on using the Fury Druid, you are going to want to make sure that you build your character up in such a way that you will remain strong enough to withstand any damage that you receive in battle before your attacks take effect. Once you have this under control, however, you will be able to control a very powerful and fun character.
Character Stats:
With your character stats, it is going to be important that you set your characters up in a way that all of their most basic stat categories are covered. From there, you will want to give the rest of your points to the areas that will make you the strongest.
Strength: You really do not need any more strength than what will be necessary for you to carry all of the equipment than you need. Any strength over this allotment will be wasted.
Dexterity: Having enough dexterity to wear all of the gear that you need will be important, but putting extra points on this category will not accomplish too much.
Vitality: Any and all of your extra points should be given to your vitality. This will be what keeps you the strongest and most resistant to any damage that you may be dealt. The more vitality that you have, the more hits that you will be able to take and resist.
Energy: You only need the very base amount of energy while running your Fury Druid. Between leveling up and mana leeches, you should be able to absorb all of the energy that you need without too much effort or allocation to energy stats.
Character Skills:
In order to make your Fury Druid the strongest possible character that it can be, you are going to need to focus on certain aspects of their skills to build them up. Considering the high rate that Rabies will be used by this character, it is obviously an importance. Other skills will come into play to help this continue, however.
Rabies is obviously one of the most important skills your Fury Druid will have. Rabies works in a way that any enemies which are close enough to you will become infected and quickly begin to die. From here, any enemies that they are close to will catch this disease and start to drain as well.
Fury will be your primary attack as a Fury Druid, allowing you to give Rabies to an enemy, or either lowering their health to a point where Rabies can quickly finish them off. This attack can allow you to attack 5 different enemies at the same time.
Werewolf is an ability which helps you to enter a werewolf state, which can increase your attack, strength, and speed. It is a good state to be in for battle.
Lycanthropy will give any druid the ability to remain in werewolf form for a longer period of time as well as giving those players extra life.
Poison Creeper is a synergy for Rabies and will help the spread of this poison. It should be maxed.
Character Accessories:
Choosing the right forms of gear for your Fury Druid will be important for keeping him strong and active during battle, especially during the points where he is not in werewolf form. Otherwise, you are leaving yourself open for taking more damage than you can handle.
Weapon:
Grief Berserker Axe – This form of axe is the strongest one that you can use as a Fury Druid. It gives extra poison damage and can lower the amount of resistance that an enemy has to your poison. Additionally, it has an increased attack speed.
The Plague Bearer – While this axe doesn’t have high attack damage, it adds a count of 5 to your Rabies, making it much more effective. Using mods on this axe can help you to have a more powerful weapon.
Shield:
Stormshield – Using this shield will give you the ability to add to your strength as well as giving the damage you take a reduction. It is a strong choice to keep your Druid strong.
Head Hunter’s Glory – This shield will give you the chance to modify it, making it into a very resistant shield against poison. Besides that, it offers good defense and a small plus to life after every kill.
Armor:
Bramble Archon Plate – This armor plate will add to the poison damage you cause by a significant amount. It offers a strong defense and can help protect your chest.
Enigma Archon Plate – Using this plate will add +2 to all of your skills and aid in teleportation. These make this armor worth it, although it does not offer much in defense.
Many other forms of gear can be utilized to help with the magic, poison, defense, and attack properties of your Fury Druid. Starting with these basics and building upon them, however, can leave you with a very strong character that will be quite fun to play with. If you want to take the werewolf approach to Diablo 2, start building a strong Fury Druid today.

Hello,
I’m a long time Diablo II player, I’ve played on and off for a long time. I’ve been playing the Diablo series since Diablo first came out for the PC, I even still have the playstation version of Diablo. I really enjoy playing the game, and I love the different aspects of finding items and the options of setting up a completely unique character. I have moved on to World of Warcraft but unlike most people, I still play Diablo II. I only play Ladder, but I play softcore and hardcore. I am interested in becoming a writer for this site, I believe I could help immensely with guides, item reviews, etc. I can write different guides and walkthroughs of the different runs, including Uber Tristram. I hope that you will take me into consideration. I am also the leader of a multi-gaming organization named The Threshold of Eternity, we currently only have two games, WoW and Diablo II. I am working on finding someone to lead a team for Warhammer Online. Thank you for reading this, have a good day.
Sincerely,
Snitzo
You know… if you’re going to the trouble of using stormshield… why not put more points in dex and get max block? I think in the end, it would give you more life, so to speak, than just dumping it all in vit.
The Fury magic is for Druid lvl 30 and it can be used only in Werewolf form, you (cannot use it in Bear form). It does heavy damage and it must be your first left hand. You have to put 20 points into Werewolf, Lycanthropy and Fury. If you want to have a company, put 15 - 20 points in Summon Dire Wolf. You MUST ubgrade your Grizzly to 17 - 20. You can put 6 points in Spirit Wolves. The best way to fight is that: Summon 17- 20 Grizzly, few Wolves, then turn into Werewolf form and fight your opponent with Fury 20.
